In 2011, Hakeem Salau came up with the idea to bring together members of the 98 set. The idea is to promote growth, networking, opportunities and financial assistance, as necessary. He reached to a few of his friends and the result was a chain reaction of information dissemination. The response was impressive. The first meeting was held at Koko bar at Stadium Surulere where an exco was formed. Hakeem Salau was elected President, Demola Abdulai his vice, Qudus Oshunade the Social Director, Yinka Martin's the Provost, Jibola Aiyeola the Secretary. Under Hakeem's tenure, ... several programs were introduced to cater and improve members well being. One of such programs was a wealth creation program where the professionals were invited to make a presentation. Some of our members benefitted. Years later, the baton was transferred to Tosin Akintula and his team. The Akintula led exco created several events to further foster the bond amongst us, some of which are monthly football games meant to bring guys together and bring everyone to speed on developments, attendance of excos and or members at other members' functions, yearly family beach party which involves our wives and kids to further entrench the bond between brothers and their respective families. While setting up all these programs, their actions didn't go unnoticed by the School authority hence the main Old boys' association whose respect was gotten and we were identified with main body; a great feat indeed. The baton has currently passed on to John Richard Vaughan and his exco team and expectations are high on their potential. We wish them goodluck and continued pursuit of excellence of our renowned set and great school in general.
